Transforming Education Need of Hour- Prof. Kiran Desai

Shivamogga: “Instead of ‘information oriented education’ we have to give much more importance for  ‘transformation oriented education’ as it is the need of hour today” opened Prof. Kiran Desai, the chairperson of the Rastrakavi G S Shivarudrappa Trust.

She was speaking as chief guest in the 30th Annual Day function of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Gajanur near hear on Tuesday.

Advising the parents and teachers to get the children touched with our language and literature in the early age itself, she said, ‘the person who can not love and respect the art can not love and respect the life’

Principal of the Vidyalaya, R Premkumar presided over the function. Gajanur Govt. High School Head Mistress K Manjula was the guest. vice-principal Vengadeshan, Navodaya Vidyalaya Development Parents Fund President Dr. Rajendra Buradikatti, parents-Teachers Council’s members Mohankumar M L, Mallesh Naik and others were present.

As part of the programme, two mothers, Smt. Satyavathi wife of late progressive farmer Dr.Devangi Prafullachandra and Smt. Kousalya Nagappa Gowda of Mandagadde were felicitated. Many colourful cultural programmes ware staged on the occasion.
